The buttocks are often an area of concern for many individuals. Some may wish to reduce or change its size and/or shape, while others wish to augment it. As time passes and the body changes, there may come a time when an individual wishes to enhance her buttocks. Regardless of the patient’s needs, Brazilian Butt Lift surgery can help individuals achieve a more aesthetically pleasing contour.

Typically, Brazilian Butt Lift surgery is performed in two parts:

  1. Liposuction surgery is performed on an area of the body first, and then the fat removed is injected into the buttock area. The most common regions targeted with the liposuction procedure include the abdomen, hips, lower back, and upper/inner thighs.
  2. Your surgeon then harvests the fat removed and prepares it to be skillfully injected into areas of the buttocks that will benefit from augmentation. By carefully and strategically placing fat cells into the buttocks, patients can achieve a more voluptuous size that is proportional to their new shape.

Brazilian Butt Lift surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. It may be performed in a hospital or surgical suite, and there is no overnight stay required. A compression garment will need to be worn for approximately six to eight weeks, and work may be resumed 10 to 14 days post-surgery. After the procedure, the buttocks will be swollen but should subside and settle into its final shape/size in the months to follow. It is important for patients to understand that some of the fat cells may be reabsorbed into the body and the final outcome may vary. As there are only small incisions made during the liposuction procedure, scarring is limited to those made in the treated area(s).

Those interested in Brazilian Butt Lift surgery may contact Dr. Wiegering to discuss their options with this buttock enhancing procedure.

According to Dr. Wiegering, “Fat transfer involving gluteal augmentation, breast augmentation, and full body contouring and facial fat transfer has improved over the last couple of years due largely in part to the improved technology. The devices that we harvest the tissue with are a vast improvement over the old methods and improved techniques are used by the surgeons. I have tried every device and method available. Presently I prefer a device known as the “Red Head” manufactured by Miami Fat Supply.

“It benefits the patient and the surgeon alike. It reduces the procedure time, sometimes by hours, lessens the possibility of complications since the fat stays in a sterile environment throughout the procedure.”

The results have very high cell viability. The patients are extremely pleased with the results and the cost of the procedure since we are able to pass those savings on to the patient. It is a win for everyone.”

Please consult with Dr. Wiegering as to which procedure will best meet your needs.
